Ruthie's Trunk Show

After posting my own trunk show, I realized that my mother -in -law's quilts deserved to be shared too! She is the reason why I started sewing and ended up having a passion for quilting.  Her work is beautiful.  Her quilts are enjoyed every day by the whole family.

The first quilt from Ruthie (Gramma) was made for my daughter, Katherine.  The bonnet girls are lovely, each with their own story.  I think they are timeless, and beautiful surrounded in red.

Ruthie's next quilt was gifted to me after it was shown at her guild.  She named it Hydrangeas for Jen, as Hydrangeas are a favorite of mine.  The piecing on this quilt is amazing!  I believe she had most of her quilts sent out to a long arm quilter for finishing.  I treasure this quilt.

Up next is a quilt I was lucky enough to finish.  The top was pieced by Ruthie.  I love the blueberry fabric.  This one has been cuddled with quite a bit and has held up to a lot of washing!

Lastly, I'd like to share my son's log cabin quilt.  This one hangs out on our couch and gets used daily.  It's quilted in a Christmas tree pattern which I think, is the perfect compliment to the quilt.

Ruthie passed in 2005 at a young age after a years battle with glioblastoma.  She was a wife, a mom of ten children, a sister to seven and a friend to so many.  She is missed greatly.  I know if she were here, she'd love to be part of this online quilting community.  I am thankful for her gift of the love of quilting.

What inspired all of you to become quilters?

Thank you for visiting!  I'll be posting along with all of you at Crazy Mom Quilts and also with Whims and Fancies Trunk Show!
