Northern Lights

At the end of the last two summers we have sent off "lanterns" at the beach.  I purchased them on Amazon.  If you haven't done this before, it's well worth it!  The lanterns look amazing as they float off into the dark sky over the water.  Each of the kids sent off their own... much like in the movie Tangled.

Speaking of "Lights" I've started cutting and organizing the pieces for a new quilt called, "Northern Lights".  This pattern has a Scandinavian feel to it.  I'm drawn to these types of quilts, as my grandmother was born in Norway.  I purchased this quilt kit and pattern from etsy.....

The other similar pattern I'd like to do is from Camille Roskelley.  It's her Norway pattern you can purchase here.

This is my WIP for the week to start off the month of November.  I'd love to know if any of you have tried either of these patterns?

Thanks for stopping by!

Signs of a wonderful end to summer.....

Labor Day Weekend, oh my... always comes too soon.  This summer was full.
Lots of great beach days on Cape Cod lingering at the ocean until late in the day.

Staring at the sky....

Holding on to baby feet....the best.

Talk of sharks and lots of them surrounding the waters off Chatham...

Never want these days to end...

But thoughts of cool days and fall start to surface as the kids head back to school.  There will be more time to finish up some WIPs.  I've only done 9 out of the 16 blocks from the Firework pattern I've been working on.

Looks like my Liam wanted to get his paws on this one....

Slow going during the summer...Looking forward to maybe not Friday finishes but fall finishes!
