Spring is in the air.

After completing the round and round quilt top I had quite a bit of fabric left over from the Day Sail collection.  This block is another round and round featuring the blues and greens from Camille Roskelley's collection.  They are fresh, crisp fabrics that pop when set against a white background.

Since it's school vacation week, we made a trip to a local art supply store for some inspiration.

Thank you for visiting!
I'll be linking up with My Quilt Infatuation and Crazy Mom Quilts
and Let's Bee Social this week.

Summer Quilt Finish!

This is my first "herringbone quilt".  I loved doing this one because it challenged me to up my quilting skills.

Solid fabrics are less forgiving when striving for matching your points up.  I gave myself some rules to follow for this one.
Slow down....
Square up those HSTs....
Use my pins....
STARCH.... what a difference that makes.

I am thankful for the quilting blogs out there that share helpful hints for fellow quilters.  The little things really do make a difference to create a crisp beautiful quilt that you'll be proud of.
A few of the lovely blogs I read often are:
Cluck Cluck Sew
Film in the Fridge
Red Pepper Quilts
Noodlehead
Freshly Pieced
Crazy Mom Quilts
Oh Fransson
Fresh Lemons

Here's the finished quilt below....

This one is listed in my etsy shop, Pretty in the Port
just in time for the 4th of July!
Happy Summer!

Starfish zipper tote!

Hi,
Just a quick Friday finish to add to Needle and Thread Thursday Time/NTT of a zipper bag made from a pattern from this blog, http://www.noodle-head.com/....
This was an easy pattern to follow and came together quite quickly.... I love the two fabrics together along with the wide open structure of the bag.  I think this would be a great addition to any summer beach bag for "girly" necessities...
I will definitely return to this pattern to try other sizes as well.
Thanks for stopping by!
Jen:)
